Adeyanju challenges Obasanjo to write an open letter to Tinubu, saying, "This Is The Best Time."

 

Human rights attorney Deji Adeyanju has challenged former president Olusegun Obasanjo to criticize President Bola Tinubu's administration in an open letter, just as he did with former presidents Goodluck Jonathan and the late Muhammadu Buhari.

According to KohlorsMedia, Adeyanju claimed in a post on his 𝕏 handle that Obasanjo was to blame for former presidential aspirants Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwakwaso leaving the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

According to Adeyanju, Atiku Abubakar, the ADC's 2027 presidential contender, also charged Obasanjo with working for his tribesman.

He also urged Obasanjo to write an open letter to Tinubu in order to refute Atiku's assertion.

"Obasanjo is yet to write an open letter denouncing Tinubu like he did to GEJ and Buhari, but he was the one who orchestrated Obi and Kwankwaso to leave the coalition further fracturing the very small opposition," he said. He is allegedly employed by his tribesman, according to Atiku. By drafting an open letter to Tinubu, OBJ has the best opportunity to demonstrate that he is not.

Akin Osuntokun, a former political advisor to Obasanjo, has stated that the former president is totally in favor of the Peter Obi/Rabiu Kwankwaso ticket for the 2027 presidency.

Osuntokun asserted that Obasanjo is the primary supporter of the Obi/Kwankwaso ticket in an interview with Arise News on Sunday.

According to Naija News, Rabiu Kwankwaso is the running mate of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi in 2027.

Osuntokun claims that because Obasanjo is critical of the Tinubu administration, there is no reason to assume that he is endorsing President Bola Tinubu's reelection campaign.

According to Osuntokun, who served as Director-General of Peter Obi's 2023 presidential campaign, Obasanjo was the one who brought Kwankwaso and the former governor of Anambra State together for the 2027 elections.

He claimed that Obasanjo had previously requested the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket, but the deal fell through.
