Six Permanent Secretaries Are Selected by Fubara

 

Six permanent secretaries have been appointed to the state civil service by Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

According to KohlorsMedia, Dr. Inyingi Brown, the Rivers State Head of Service, made the announcement in a statement.

Freddy Ndigbara, Fortune Akpila, Promise Oguzie, Ibisoye Lolomari Nwankwo, Ibiyemiebara Joseph Uzoma, and Mercy Dagogo Iboroma have been appointed.

Brown revealed that the governor would swear in the new permanent secretaries on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

The announcement stated that the newly appointed permanent secretaries would be sworn in by His Excellency, the Governor of Rivers State, in the State Executive Council Chambers on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at noon.

In other news, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike stated that Fubara's reconciliation with his political camp did not constitute an offense.

According to Wike, the governor's only option was to rejoin the political system that helped him win.

After examining ongoing road work in the Federal Capital Territory, the former governor of Rivers spoke with reporters on Tuesday.

He rejected claims that Fubara's comeback amounted to a request for pardon following years of political conflict.

"I do not know what you mean by sin," Wike remarked. There is no sin in politics. There is nothing wrong with someone realizing they made a mistake and choosing to fix it.

"Being involved in politics is not sinful. Making the correct choice after realizing you were headed in the wrong direction is what counts.
